Winder Power Coronavirus position as at 2nd March 2020

Winder Power is aware of concerns from our customers about health and human safety, and continuity of service, related to the recently emerged novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in China.

Given the complex nature of global raw material supply chains, Winder Power is unable to guarantee that some of its raw materials do not originate in China.  Some of our supply partners have operations in Italy, and we are closely monitoring their situation and adapting our response accordingly.

However, Winder Power does maintain a diverse raw material supplier and manufacturing network that will enable us to respond to disruptions in our supply chains. We are reviewing our supply situations on a daily basis and working with our supplier partners to source materials from unaffected regions, wherever possible.  In addition, around 70% of our raw materials are from UK sources, including our in-house manufacturing facility.

CDC and WHO officials have stated that risk to the general public outside of China is low. Also, Coronaviruses are generally transmitted through close human contact. Similar coronaviruses (MERS and SARS) typically do not survive on surfaces for more than a few hours indicating a very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks.

Currently there is no evidence to support transmission of COVID-19 associated with imported goods and there have not been any cases of COVID-19 associated with imported goods. There is no indication that Corona viruses can be transferred in an active form from infected humans or animals to raw material or finished products or vice versa.

Winder Power continues to monitor concerns and evolving information around Coronavirus COVID-19 to ensure quality and safety to our customers.
