Refurbishment, installation & commissioning of 1 x 13kV Earthing Transformer

Scope of work

  • Fully refurbished Winder, UK manufactured, 13000 volt (17500V maximum), earthing transformer, designed to limit the fault current in the neutral to 830A for 3 seconds.  3 phase, 50Hz, Interstar.    Refurbished and tested in general accordance with BSEN60076
  • De-tank the core and windings, inspect all HV tapping connections, tighten up the clamping arrangement as necessary, stove dry for minimum 3 days at 105°C
  • Replace all HV bushing and gaskets
  • Shot blast the complete transformer tank, repaint the complete transformer assembly and cable boxes to our coastal paint finish standard, DAG final colour or a different colour if specified
  • Supply and fit a new buchholz relay c/w with copper capillary pipes/taps for draining and bleeding at ground level
  • Supply and fit new oil temperature indicator c/w 2 x N/O contacts

Re-gasket all remaining flange fixings throughout

  • After stove drying of the core and windings, re-tank and connect
  • Refill the complete transformer with the new oil Gemini X, under vacuum
  • Carry out routine electrical tests in accordance with BS EN 60076 via video link
  • Check test all protection devices fitted for correct operation
  • Delivery, offloading via HIAB (8m reach) and site commissioning as per the customers spec
  • Supply and fit new breather
  • Supply and fit new valves throughout
