Scope of work

  • Design, manufacture and testing of 1 x 7.5/15MVA, 33/11.5kV  power transformer.
  • This unit was the first of its kind, designed and manufactured by Winder Power with the new vacuum VBO tapchanger.
  • The tank’s design caters for all variances of  terminations (cable box or bushings/turrets). The same tank can be used for compact radiators or separate cooler bank designs. The marshalling kiosk is standardised so that one size covers all options.
  • Full in-house routine, lightning impulse, noise, temperature rise, partial discharge & SFRA testing.

Delivery using a semi-low loader then off-loading via hydraulic jacking and skating with a single-directional skid.

Full commissioning works as per the customers specification which includes;

  • Insulation resistance of each winding, core & secondary circuits,
  • Transformer ratio check,
  • Vector group check by 3 phase low voltage energisation of transformer,
  • Checks on all CTs & VTs for insulation resistance,
  • Ratio & magnetisation curves,
  • SFRA,
  • Operation of tapchanger through range & operation of limit switches,
  • Operation of protection equipment,
  • Oil sampling for routine,
  • Water & dissolve gas analysis.
