Winder Power Wins Third Gold RoSPA Award

Winder Power is a winner, once again, at the RoSPA Health and Safety Awards 2018.

Winder Power achieved the Gold award for the third year in a row as part of the prestigious annual scheme run by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).

The award ceremony will be held on Wednesday 4th July at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole hotel.

Through the RoSPA Awards scheme, which is open to businesses and organisations of all types and sizes from across the UK and overseas, judges consider entrants’ over-arching occupational health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. The awards are now in their 62nd year.

Commenting on the award, Winder Power Chief Executive Laurence MacKenzie said; “This is a great result. I am so encouraged by the leaps and bounds we have made in health and safety – we take it very seriously which is a great credit to everyone. I have always said there are three important things about health and safety: (1) it matters to our customers; (2) we have a moral responsibility to ensure the workplace is safe; (3) there is a great cost in having accidents.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of awards and events, said: “The RoSPA Awards are the most prestigious in the world of occupational health and safety, and held in high regard around the world, as winning one demonstrates an organisation’s commitment to maintaining an excellent health and safety record. Achieving the standard required is no mean feat.”
